We couldn't do what we do without taking the welfare of everybody who comes to play cricket at Leeds and Broomfield CC seriously, especially that of the young players.

clubmark30mmRGB.pngWe try to demonstrate that in many, many ways, not least of which is that we are a Clubmark club.  Clubmark is a cross-sport accreditation issued by Sport England and it certainly doesn't come very easily these days.

Cricket in particular has embraced the principles of Clubmark more than any other sport in the country and leads the way with the number of clubs who have satisfied the rigourous assessment standards it now involves.

National Governing Bodies, in our case the England and Wales Cricket Board, accredit clubs that comply with minimum operating standards in four areas:

Duty of care and child protection
The playing or participation programme
Sports equity and ethics
Club management

In support of that continuing commitment we have developed a number of policies to cover such things as equality for all at Leeds and Broomfield and what we expect of our young players, their parents or carers and all our Members and guests.  The most important of these are:

LBH Equity Policy Statement

LBH Code of Conduct for Parents and Carers

LBH Rules for Young Players

Leeds and Broomfield Code of Conduct for Member and Guests

We urge you to download each of these documents so that you know what you can expect of us and in turn, what we can expect from you and your children.

If you have any questions at all about any aspect of anything you read in these documents please don't hesitate to contact either Bob Patterson or John Higgs - their contact details can be found on the home page.

Leeds and Broomfield was the second cricket club in the county (currently there are 47) to achieve accreditation and is now seeking re-accreditation for the next 3 years.  If you'd like to read more about the process in Kent, the Kent Cricket Board (KCB) has a dedicated section on its website.

At the heart of all and any welfare policies we have is our Club Welfare Officer, who is Richard Atkinson.  Richard has been trained to deal with any welfare matter that might come his way.  An in the unlikely event he can't deal with it for any reason, he has contacts at KCB who can.

Richard can be contacted by email or by phone at 01622 738522 or 07801 697754.  If Richard isn't available you can contact Bob Patterson on 01797 364668 or 07908 523635.

There are all sorts of policies, procedures and so on, not to mention insurance policies, that we have in place to make sure your child has the best possible experience of the game of cricket at Leeds and Broomfield Cricket Club and its junior section, LBH.  We live by them, totally.

If you think we don't match the standards that we have set for ourselves, don't hesitate to contact John Higgs directly or if you feel it more appropriate, the Leeds and Broomfield Club Chairman, John Fletcher or on 01233 713107.
