Over time we'll try to add some (hopefully!) interesting bits and pieces of information about Cricket in places you might not expect it to be played.
So if you know somewhere off the normal cricketing tracks, or preferably you've seen it played in an out-of-the-way place, let us know. And if you've got a photo or two you don't mind sharing with us, that would be something special!
In the United States of America
Over the last 10 years the sport of cricket has gained popularity all over the world and in the United States particularly.
Consider these facts: cricket is now played in 89 countries. It is second to only soccer in worldwide popularity as a spectator sport. Each year it reaches an audience with an income in excess of $40 billion or in real money, somewhere around £20 billion. That's a lot of money!
It's estimated that over 7.5 million cricket fans live in the United States of America where, at the last count, there were more than 600 Clubs, 40 Leagues and 20,000 active Cricketers. Twenty20 cricket is inevitably growing in popularity at Club level there.
Actually, the history of Cricket in America is a very interesting subject which we'll cover here in more depth later.
