We thought we'd include news of the people and the events that make up the great game of Cricket here in England.

As long as it's got an English theme to it, it's good to go here.

From the Wisden Cricketer

I love the Wisden Cricketer magazine.  It has everything right about it to my way of seeing things.

And now there's an excellent on-line version as well which is supplemented by a must-have newsletter.  This week it has this as an observation about Shoaib Akhtar, the part-time bowler for Pakistan:

"He came, he saw that he had the wrong visa, he left.

However, eventually Shoaib Akhtar made it beyond the airport and he's even managed to bowl a few overs for Surrey between the rain showers.

The question is, what will his ratio of wickets to flights be at the end of the season. It's currently 3:1 in favour of flights."

Now that's my sense of humour!
